2 Valuable Tips When Transitioning To The Next Level

Have you ever been through a phase in your life where it appears as if you are moving out of your comfort zone?

Just when you thought everything is perfect, your routine established , then change comes.

This change is not always desirable or easy to handle.

Most times it is uncomfortable, you feel like you have been stretched.

I have been there and  I can categorically tell you that I really did not like it.

However, I found so much fulfillment outside my comfort zone that the stretching is worth it.

These are tips I found really valuable during transitions in my life, hope you find them useful too.

Stretching may be uncomfortable but beneficial :

Knowing with certainty in your heart that  growth and progress lie outside of your comfort zone is  encouraging.

Beyond the stretching and the discomfort that may come with it lie your desired end.

Think about adopting  a new exercise regimen,

After your first exercise routine, you feel the pain and  discomfort that comes with exercise muscles being worked on for the first time.

No matter how you feel after the first exercise routine, if you persevere the discomfort will disappear and your well toned muscles will emerge.

The same thing applies to our lives as well. When you  persevere, not only will the pain become a thing of the past but your life will be moved to a whole new level.

No matter what the going feels like right now, remember this:

Keep the end in mind and fully understand all things are working for your good.

Stay Motivated:

Transition period could be emotionally draining and thoughts of quitting may  persist.

It is important to stay motivated now, more than ever.

Using the analogy of an exercise regimen used earlier.

When adopting a new exercise regimen, some practical things keep you going when you feel like quitting.

Having a coach or finding peer support keeps you motivated.

I remember when I started running, running with a friend was quite helpful to me.

Even if you do not have a personal coach, find motivational resources online or videos on YouTube  to  listen to.

You can even look at your self in the mirror and encourage yourself. Declare the desired end, even when nothing looks like it right now.

Call yourself what you want to be and begin to create the world you desire with your words.

Believe in yourself and believe in God and nothing will be impossible to you!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Never Give Up

You have it all figured out, your plans nicely mapped out.

Suddenly, things appear to be working out very differently to your dismay.

You do not know what to do or how to turn things around.

You feel as though you are being pushed firmly against the wall.

Nowhere in particular to turn to.

Do not despair or be discouraged, let strength well up within you. Choose to be strong, choose not to give up.

When challenges comes in life, you have two options: fight with everything within you or simply give up.

Think of it this way, every single day you live, you are writing a story.

How do you want your story to end?

Your story could be told in two different ways similar to the ones below:

” …she had a difficult time, she went on a somewhat emotional roller-coaster. She pressed on in faith believing in herself and believing in God. Situation around her looked hopeless but she never stopped believing for the best. Despite the challenges she accomplished every goal.”

OR

“… she had a difficult time, she went on a somewhat emotional roller-coaster. She was so disappointed things didn’t work as planned, she gave up. She was quite talented, wonder what happened to her…”

How do you want your story to be told?

If you are wondering how you can persevere in the face of difficulties, I have a few tips:

1. Pray – prayer changes everything, don’t just pray because you read this article. Pray believing that God answers and will turn things around for you. You also draw emotional strength in the place of prayer.

2. Stay motivated – read or listen to motivational information as often as you can.

3. Stop talking about the problem but instead speak the desired outcome.

4. Choose not to give up.

Is Quitting an Option?

One of the most common cause of failure is  the habit of quitting when one is overtaken by temporary defeat- Napoleon Hill

I remember running my first race,  prior to this race I run regularly with an average of  10 miles per week. Race day finally came and I found out that the terrain was completely different from what I was used to.

The race track was on an altitude much higher than I was used to and for the first one mile I was running up hill. I could have checked the details of the terrain before the race but it didn’t even occur to me at the time.

Several thoughts flowed through my mind during the first  few miles of the race, predominantly thoughts of turning back and simply quitting the race. Quitting was the easiest thing I could have done at that point. Several points  justifying  quitting the race came rushing through my mind as well.  Have you ever been faced with a difficulty and thoughts of quitting flood your mind?

Are you considering quitting a task or  turning back on a journey right now? I hope you find the highlights below useful in your consideration.

1. What does it take to quit? If you carefully think about it, it takes absolutely nothing to quit. Using my race scenario described earlier, I had trained for several months for the race and quitting will only involve taking a simple stroll downhill from the point I was to my car. It takes a lot of effort and perseverance to succeed at anything,  while quitting takes nothing. If you are thinking about quitting right now take the advise in the quote below.

2. How will you feel if you quit?  Quitting dampens morale and takes you back to repeat what you have done earlier, even if you choose a different task. On the contrary, accomplishing a goal after a very difficult experience makes  victory even sweeter. Think about the boost that will give to your self-esteem. You will go on to take bigger task with confidence.  I completed the 10k race in less time than expected, it gave me a huge confidence boost. I doubt if I will still be running today if I left the race.

You have all it takes to win in you, you can win! Believe this truth and declare it to yourself as often as you can and see things work your way.
