2 Simple Strategies To Spring Forward…Finish Strong

Athletes

As we enter the final quarter of the year, many thoughts may come to mind.

Thoughts such as: ” this year has been amazing, plans roll out as intended or maybe : ” I need to push harder and accomplish all I have to accomplish”

Whatever the thoughts following through your mind right now, you can spring forward and finish the year strong. Here are some tips:

1. Quality Reflective Time: So many times we go so fast that we do not take time to reflect and think.

Take a pen and your journal, sit down in a quiet place and think. Think about where you want to be at the end of the year.

Think about where you are now, what do you daily that has led you this far?

What do you need to do differently?

Write all these thoughts down.

Project new daily routines that could help you.

Write them all down.

It does not matter how far away you are from where you want to be.

Make time to think about how to reset your life to get the results you desire.

Think deeply about the future you want to create, let the desire fire you up!

Be energized to go for your dreams! You can do it!!

2. Get a coach: If you ever want to accomplish anything faster, get a coach!

A coach will help you stay on course, push you to go further than you can go on your own.

Someone that will hold you accountable while encouraging you.

I love working with a coach and I have more that one really.

A fitness coach,  business coach…, it all depends on where you are in this phase of your life. Get someone who will push you forward in your journey.

Make sure your coach has gone further than you, not someone aspiring to be where you are.

Success in any area of life is intentional, choose the path to success today!!

Time to Soar!

It is time to soar!

Look at yourself in a mirror and declare “…it is time for me to spread my wings like the eagle and soar!”

A young child has many influences in his life. Parents and family members encouraging and speaking into him builds confidence in him, in most cases this child grows up believing in himself, growing a strong self-esteem.

Some are not as fortunate, raised in an abusive environment  they struggle to find an identity in life.

Irrespective of your family situation, life experiences or  upbringing, the moment you make decision to move up in life things begin to change.

The first step is deciding in your heart that the time to soar is now. Believe you can and things will start aligning your way to make it happen. Ideas on things to do, or resources to look for will begin to cross your mind.

My objective with this post is to encourage you to make the second half of this year an amazing one.

It does not matter the limitation you may have faced in the first half.

Move past the mistakes or failure of the past (learn from them though).

The future ahead of you is bright, and you have all it takes to achieve all that you have purposed to accomplish. Don’t let anything hold you back

People might have talked down on you, your family may have given up on you, sad as that might be…it does not determine how far you will get in life.

The most important thing is that you do not give up on yourself, decide today to take things to the next level.

Look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself “everything I need to make it to the top is in me!”

Create a habit of encouraging yourself and building yourself confidence.

Stay away from people who talk you down and start surrounding yourself with positive and inspiring people.

Continue to invest in yourself.

Let everyday move you closer to your dreams! #Thebestisyettocome!

3 Practical Steps To Living The Life You Desire

3

I still remember lying in bed one morning watching my two-year old son stare out of the window with rapt attention.

It was one of the most reflective times of my life as I ponder on parenting and the responsibilities that come with it.

My husband and I wanted to start a family right after we got married, neither of knew what that entailed..though we thought we did.

I grew up in a close-knit family and I had a wonderful time babysitting my younger siblings, and cousins. I never thought much of raising a family at all, after all, I grew up taking care of younger ones.

Naively, while I was still single, I had planned my life goals and dreams without giving much consideration to raising a family, even though I desired one.

That morning, I critically accessed my life goals in the light where I was in my life.

At the time I was setting my life goals, I was single, now things have changed and I had to face that.

Milestones I set for my self had to change, priorities had to shift and I simply had to draw a completely different picture.

That was six years ago and I am truly thankful, I embraced the change I made. I hope you find the list below helpful.

1. What is your dream for your life? It is important to get a clear picture of what you want your life to look like.

For so long, I had focused solely on my career and success for me was defined by how much success I had on my job.

Later, specifically after I started a family, I saw a bigger picture and started thinking more in terms of a complete me.

I sat down and wrote what I desired for myself as person (physical, emotional and spiritual), as a wife, a mom, a professional, the list went on.

2. Establish practical routines: How do you accomplish the dream you have? One practical approach is by establishing a routine of activities you could carry out on a daily basis to move you towards your dream.

For example you desire to read a book every week. Instead of looking for a day when you can seat down for 3 or 4 hours to read the entire book, why not read 10 pages of the book a day.

Routines vary from person to person but it is important to ensure that everyday we incorporate activities in our schedule that move us closer to our dreams.

3. Set realistic milestones: Don’t put too much pressure on yourself, set milestones that are realistic for you. For example losing 10 lbs a week might be realistic goal for your girlfriend but it might be a stretch for you. Stay with what works for you.

Baby steps or giant steps, the size of the steps does not really matter, the most important thing is that everyday moves you closer to your dreams.

3 Simple Truths Everyone Should Know About Words.

Black board with in

Something dropped on your toe, you cussed out loud.

You seem to enjoy the way people around you get amused when you cuss or say something negative.

Complaining and whining about your problems seem to draw sympathy from others and you really cannot imagine what you can do differently.

Words, they are just words right? They really do not affect anything? Do they? You really can say anything you want whenever you want. There are absolutely no consequences whatsoever? Right? WRONG!

Just in case you miss my response the first time. Your words are powerful, they shape your world around you.

  1. Your words are like dynamite:   Think about it, there are some people you know, they always complain about something. Every single time you see them they have something to complain about. They never seem to run short of things to complain about. Have you ever wondered why? It is simple, they have created their world by their words. Just as dynamite can disrupt or rearrange what we see in a short time. Your words are powerful and have the potential to shape your life
  2. Change your words, change your life: if you do not like what you see around you, check the way you think about the situation. Your thoughts shape the words you speak, your words shape your reality. Sit down, write down what you desire and start working towards it. Let your words agree with what you believe, declare what you desire regularly.
  3. Your words can make you attractive or otherwise: people can be attracted to you by simply listening to you. Every time you speak, they are uplifted and encouraged, they simply want to be around you or call you. Think about it, will you want to be around a person that discourage you or dampen your morale? No one will.

Your words are powerful, they do not only shape your world but can attract people to you. Carefully think about your words before you speak. Are you adding value to people around you?

The next time you are tempted to complain, cuss or whine. Think carefully about what you are about to say. If those words were to come true, will you be happy and content? Or will it be the exact opposite? Make it a great week!
