Attitude of Gratitude Always Win
Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity…it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow. -Melody Beattie
Have you ever had little kids around you that express gratitude profoundly?
I have and what comes to mind readily is the warmth their attitude brings. It encourages you to do more.
This is not actually unique to kids, even though it is cute when it comes from them.
Friends that are grateful are quite endearing. You are drawn to them and encouraged to do more.
Beyond the effect of an attitude of gratitude on people around you. An attitude of gratitude has a great impact on you. Some of the benefits are highlighted below:
1. Encouragement: When you think about all that is working for you and how you have overcome difficult times, it inspires you to believe for more.
My favorite book is the Bible, a bible story I read a lot growing up is that of David and Goliath. My perspective to this story has changed over the years.
David a young boy was on the battlefield and volunteered to fight a giant.
Even though David was in a situation where ordinarily anyone will be fearful or worried, he was not.
He thought back on all the challenges he had in the past and how God helped him. He remembered how he fought the wild animals while taking care of his flock and enjoyed protection.
His confidence was strengthened, he boldly fought and won the battle. Think back on the goodness you have enjoyed in years past.
Think about the provision, protection, the simple fact that you have a sound mind and good health.
Think about God’s goodness to you and let confidence well up within you as you start a new year.
Remember if you are defeated in your heart, experiencing defeat is imminent regardless of the scenario. Choose to be grateful and express your gratitude.
Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.- William Arthur Ward
2. Attracts Goodness: Gratitude attracts more of what you are grateful for.
Think about this, when you are grateful for the people in your life, your attitude towards them reflects it.
Have you ever noticed that on days when you are in great spirits and wearing a big smile, everyone around you seem to be smiling? People respond to you.
Gratitude energizes you to do more, it also inspires others to do more for you.
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” Oprah Winfrey
Gratitude and attitude are not challenges; they are choices. Robert Braathe
