Acts of Kindness
My family and I live on the East Coast of United States, for us really cold winter months is not unusual. I still remember when my husband and I bought our home shortly after we got married, the neighborhood was new to us and we really did not know anyone close by. Our move took place during the winter months, and on several occasions it snowed. We woke up most mornings after a night of snow storm to see that our driveway had been cleared. This happened a couple of times and till today we do not know the person who shoveled the snow . However, the gesture really warmed our hearts. In a way, the act of kindness spoke to me, it made me feel so welcomed to the neighborhood. That was nine years ago, and I still remember that experience with gratitude.
Personally I have found reaching out to help people very gratifying. It does not have to be anything big or expensive, so far it is from the heart. It could be a smile or a word of encouragement. Look around you this week and touch someone’s heart with an act of kindness.
