Warren Buffett is the third richest man in the world, with a net worth of $47 billion.
Here, I shares his keys to success (one of them being that money, fame or attention is not the only way to be successful).
Buffet knows all about success– he was this century’s most successful investor and also named one of the most influential people in the world by Time Magazine. Here are more words of wisdom for you:
1) Have a competitive advantage
In this economy, it’s important to stand out from the rest. If you can protect your business from competition by having an advantage (like low-cost production or a skill set no one else can offer) you’ll stay in the game much longer and be more successful as a business owner overall.
2) Schedule for your personality
Buffett really doesn’t like to keep a regimented, strict scheduled day full of meetings. He likes to have time to do things at his own pace. He likes to make calls. He likes to call the shots and decide when he’s working and for how long. When you get to a point that you are able to make you own schedule, do what fits best with your personality and how you will work most effectively.
3) Always be competing
The number one thing that makes a business fail is complacency. It’s when companies start to get lazy and sloppy and stop caring about getting ahead of the competition. If you treat your business and your work like every day you’ve got to be on top, whether you’re just starting out or you’re doing really well, you’ll continue to be successful.
4) Model success
When you want to be admired, simply act like the people you admire and you’ll find that nothing is impossible for you. If you want to be successful, behave as if you are and people will believe it. You should follow the footsteps of those you admire but you should also seek to be a mentor for others behind you.
5)Give unconditional love
Buffett thinks one of the most powerful things you can offer to others, in particular your children, is unconditional love. It strengthens, lifts, and ennobles us. We remember what the feeling of love is like from parent to child and we find that we are blessed when we give it willingly.
