How To Truly Love Yourself

There is nothing more beautiful than feeling comfortable in your own skin.

Truly loving the person you are.

There is something unique and special about you.

There is something valuable about you that the world is eager to discover.

Loving yourself does not mean you are selfish. Not at all.

It simply means you are absolutely confident and secure in who you are

Being confident in yourself is empowering, you can help people around you.

You can spread your wings out like the eagle and soar. You can, because you believe you can.

If you are wondering how you can develop this level of confidence, here are a few tips

1. Deal with the insecurity:

So many times people simply think poorly of themselves.

Sometimes this sense of insecurity or low self-esteem develop at a very young age.

I remember reading a story of a young lady who for many years thought so poorly of herself.

She recounts that while she was in elementary school people made fun of her because she had freckles on her skin.

She said she really hated recess growing up and dreaded going to the playground. Long after that phase of her life was over with she realized low self-esteem still persisted.

She actually thought it was normal to feel that way about herself until she attended a life changing conference. She identified her problem and started her journey to building herself up.

No matter what may have caused your insecurity problems, the way you feel about yourself can change.

The first step is identifying where you are and what you are dealing with.

So many times I hear people complain about their weight. If you do not like your weight you can change that. I remember gaining some weight after having my first son, the weight did not fall off as quickly as I wanted .

My dresses did not fit as nicely as they used to and I was determined to change that. Of course I could sit around and complain about it or accept it as my new look.  Instead I chose to do something about it.

I took long walks, and doubled up on my work out. First thing in the morning and last thing at night I worked on my abs. All those activities paid off because not only did the pounds fall off but I got my body tone back. I still maintain my routine.

I said all that to say that, you can work to change what you do not like or anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.

It is also very important to focus on the positive.

People sometime make you focus on a flaw, once your attention is drawn to it, it is the only thing you see.

You think about it, you talk about it, it is simply the main thing.  What will happen if you focus your thoughts on your strengths ?

The way you see yourself  will change.

Acknowledge your gifts and strengths.

When people admire those unique qualities you possess, don’t brush it off, accept it and be thankful for it.

Change the way you see yourself. Start seeing yourself confident and successful. Let your words agree with what you see. Declare success.

2. Invest in yourself:

Create new habits that help you discover and maximize your potential.

Reading books or listening to audio books that are motivational and inspiring is a good place to start.

Think about this: can I carry the same weights body builders carry? No! Why? They have more muscles than me? No, they do not but they have trained their muscles to carry such heavy weights over time, while I have not. If I want to carry weights like they do I have to train myself to do so, I have the potential to do the same but I have to work on myself to maximize my potential.

This simple principle apply in every area of life, start investing in yourself today, you will be amazed to realize how much you have in you.

Simple changes in your routine will move you from where you are to where you want to be.

Invest in the whole you, your spirit, soul and body. Not just one or two of them, all three.

You can truly love yourself. Start the journey today!

A Priceless Gift, Anyone Can Enjoy

I woke up this morning thinking about the most valuable gift anyone can ever enjoy.

There are so many things in life you can put value to.

A great house, nice car, great education… the list goes on.

All these have  price tags .

But really…the most valuable things in life cannot be bought

Sometimes you hear someone many consider successful take his/her own life.

Some overdose on anti-depression drugs.

You wonder why?

How could someone so wealthy, “fulfilled” and “happy” be depressed?

How could someone who makes the world laugh, languish in depression?

So many think, when they attain a level of success. They will be fulfilled, their soul will embrace the ultimate satisfaction.

They work hard and attain their goal, only to find out that the emptiness persist.

People are searching.

Searching for the missing link?

What is that missing link ?

Many search for peace within, a sense of security within…

Peace within can only come from one source…

Who is the ultimate source of peace?

He has been described as the friend that sticks closer than a brother.

He can be counted on when the going is good or bad.

He is the balm in Gilead.

He heals and restores.

He is the Prince of peace, he brings calm to every storm.

He is the provider and the healer.

He is the epitome of love, always there whenever you need him.

He is God’s only son, Jesus.

You can embrace his love too.

Simply ask him to come into your heart…

…and start enjoying the greatest gift of all.

Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life

Time for Change - Red Word on White Desktop Calendar Isolated on Gray Background.

A friend once resigned from her job to open her own pharmacy, it has always been her dream.

Starting out was quite challenging but she never gave up.

Several years later, she opened the second pharmacy and more recently she opened the third.

If you ask my friend why she succeeded in business she will tell you:

  1. She believed she could be successful in business.
  2. She persevered when everything around her was trying to prove her wrong.

As a man thinks in his heart so is he- The Bible

Thinking about her journey, I could not help reflecting on the power of thoughts

If you think you can do a thing or you think you can’t, you are right”- Henry Ford.

Have you ever set out to carry out a task you were sure you could accomplish but turned out to be more rigorous than expected?

Did you give up or persevere?

If you persevered, why do you think you persevered?

Could it be because you believed you can get the job done?

Your thoughts are powerful and so are words.

Interestingly there is a connection between the two.

Whatever you believe will shape your world, if you believe that you will be successful you will be.

Your words flow from the abundance of thoughts in your heart.

Once you start thinking about something, it is just a matter of time you will start talking about it.

Think little goals and expect little achievements. Think big goals and win big success.-David Joseph Schwartz

Have you ever had anyone in your life that believes in you and speaks positively into your life?

The person might say something like you are an amazing speaker, at first you might dismiss the comment.

If this compliment is repeated a few more times you start believing it. Your confidence gets a good boost, and you start talking about it.

If you carefully think back you will realize there are several instances when this principle has played out for you .

The way you think, affects what you say, how you act and ultimately shapes your reality.

If you do not like the way things are with you change the way you think. Free yourself to think and think big

You have to think anyway so why not think big? — Donald Trump

Action Plan: Start paying attention to how you think and what you spend time thinking about. Carefully guard your thoughts and start thinking big.
