There is nothing more beautiful than feeling comfortable in your own skin.
Truly loving the person you are.
There is something unique and special about you.
There is something valuable about you that the world is eager to discover.
Loving yourself does not mean you are selfish. Not at all.
It simply means you are absolutely confident and secure in who you are
Being confident in yourself is empowering, you can help people around you.
You can spread your wings out like the eagle and soar. You can, because you believe you can.
If you are wondering how you can develop this level of confidence, here are a few tips
1. Deal with the insecurity:
So many times people simply think poorly of themselves.
Sometimes this sense of insecurity or low self-esteem develop at a very young age.
I remember reading a story of a young lady who for many years thought so poorly of herself.
She recounts that while she was in elementary school people made fun of her because she had freckles on her skin.
She said she really hated recess growing up and dreaded going to the playground. Long after that phase of her life was over with she realized low self-esteem still persisted.
She actually thought it was normal to feel that way about herself until she attended a life changing conference. She identified her problem and started her journey to building herself up.
No matter what may have caused your insecurity problems, the way you feel about yourself can change.
The first step is identifying where you are and what you are dealing with.
So many times I hear people complain about their weight. If you do not like your weight you can change that. I remember gaining some weight after having my first son, the weight did not fall off as quickly as I wanted .
My dresses did not fit as nicely as they used to and I was determined to change that. Of course I could sit around and complain about it or accept it as my new look. Instead I chose to do something about it.
I took long walks, and doubled up on my work out. First thing in the morning and last thing at night I worked on my abs. All those activities paid off because not only did the pounds fall off but I got my body tone back. I still maintain my routine.
I said all that to say that, you can work to change what you do not like or anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.
It is also very important to focus on the positive.
People sometime make you focus on a flaw, once your attention is drawn to it, it is the only thing you see.
You think about it, you talk about it, it is simply the main thing. What will happen if you focus your thoughts on your strengths ?
The way you see yourself will change.
Acknowledge your gifts and strengths.
When people admire those unique qualities you possess, don’t brush it off, accept it and be thankful for it.
Change the way you see yourself. Start seeing yourself confident and successful. Let your words agree with what you see. Declare success.
2. Invest in yourself:
Create new habits that help you discover and maximize your potential.
Reading books or listening to audio books that are motivational and inspiring is a good place to start.
Think about this: can I carry the same weights body builders carry? No! Why? They have more muscles than me? No, they do not but they have trained their muscles to carry such heavy weights over time, while I have not. If I want to carry weights like they do I have to train myself to do so, I have the potential to do the same but I have to work on myself to maximize my potential.
This simple principle apply in every area of life, start investing in yourself today, you will be amazed to realize how much you have in you.
Simple changes in your routine will move you from where you are to where you want to be.
Invest in the whole you, your spirit, soul and body. Not just one or two of them, all three.
You can truly love yourself. Start the journey today!
